Colorkitchen.studio FTP Usage Rules

Materials for assembly (EDL, XML, AAF, references) and files to be inserted into the film (graphics, titles, audio) are only accepted via FTP.

To connect to FTP, use FTP clients such as:
• Filezilla - https://filezilla-project.org
• Transmit - https://panic.com/transmit/
• Cyberduck - https://cyberduck.io

IMPORTANT! Set the parameter Maximum simultaneous transfers to 7.

The FTP is divided into departments:

• EDITORIAL
• GRADE
• SOUND
• CG
• MASTER

Information is received FROM (EDITORIAL, SOUND, CG) and sent FOR (EDITORIAL, SOUND, CG, GRADE).
All information received or sent should be placed in the respective department folder, with the current date. The folder format should be strictly Year-Month-Day,
for example: 2016-01-22.

Required Folder Structure for VFX Shots:

<FROM_CG>/<Date>/<Vendor>/<Reel Number or Job Code>/<Shot Name>_<version number>/<Shot Name>_<version number>_<color space>.<sequence number>.<extension>

Example:
FTP://FROM_CG/2022-01-22/ilm/reel1/clp_0010_v02/clp_0010_v02_aces.000000.exr

Naming Rules:

• The shot name should not change throughout the project.
• A common mistake is using clp-0010_comp_ and clp_0010_.
• Specifying the color space is optional.
• For promotional graphics, use the name of the job in , e.g., <trl1>.

Color Grading Mask Requirements:

1. Multi-channel EXR in the shot composition.
2. Multi-channel TIFF (RBGA); in this case, the Alpha should be placed in a separate folder with the suffix _alpha, _matte, or _mask, or in a subfolder of the same shot. The mask file name should exactly match the shot’s resolution and frame count, and use the suffix _alpha, _matte, or _mask, for example: clp-0010_v02/clp_0010_v02_matte_000000.tif

Not Allowed:

1. Using local langauge letters and spaces in folder and file names.
2. Compressing material into archives before transfer.

Files are stored for two weeks. (If needed, the retention period can be extended upon request.
